| Promise to Mary |

V: Good morning, Don.
D: Good morning, Vicki.
V: Today's Power for Today reading tells us that "nothing is impossible with God."
D: Absolutely right. God gave Sarah a baby boy when she was very old.
V: And the Lord brought back the people of Israel to their own land after they were taken away by the people of Chaldea.
D: And as proof that He would do that, the Lord told Jeremiah to buy some property and bury the "deed" or certificate of ownership in front of witnesses.
V: Jeremiah was confused about this strange action and asked the Lord, "Why?"
D: It is because for awhile the people of Israel would face violence, hunger and "pestilence" which means all kinds of destruction.
V: But then the Lord would bring back their fortunes and bring them back to their own land.
D: I see. So the buried deed was proof that the Lord would one day bring Jeremiah back to the same property.
V: The lesson for us is that we should still remember that nothing is impossible with the Lord.
D: We face all kinds of struggles in life that might look hopeless, but the Lord will "work out" or accomplish all the impossible details.
V: That is great news.
D: So we should not be afraid to let the Lord use us for whatever He asks of us.
V: I think I am ready to volunteer. How about you?
D: Me too. Let's make this a great day.
V: And why not have a good one!
D: You too! |

| 마리아에게 한 약속 |
|
비키: 안녕히 주무셨어요, 여보?
단: 예, 당신도 잘 잤어요?
비키: 오늘 자 ‘오늘의 능력’은 ‘하나님에게 불가능 한 것은 없다’에 대해 언급하고 있네요.
단: 의심할 여지도 없지요. 하나님께서는 아주 나이가 많았던 사라에게 아들을 주셨지요.
비키: 주님께서는 또 갈대아인에게서 쫓겨 난 이스라엘 사람들을 다시 그들의 땅으로 불러 들이셨지요.
단: 하나님께서는 그렇게 할 것이라는 증거로 예레미야에게 땅을 사고 그 소유증서를 증인들 앞에서 땅에 묻으라고 하셨고요.
비키: 예레미야는 이 이상한 일에 혼란스러워 하나님께 왜 그래야 되느냐고 묻지요.
단: 이는 한동안 이스라엘 민족이 온갖 종류의 파괴를 야기 시킬 흑사병과 굶주림과 폭력에 시달릴 것이기 때문이에요.
비키: 하지만 하나님께서는 그들의 재산을 돌려주시고 그들을 그들의 땅으로 다시 불러들이셨어요.
단: 그렇군요. 그러니까 땅에 묻은 증서는 하나님께서 언젠가 예레미야를 같은 곳으로 불러들인다는 증거였군요.
비키: 우리에게 주는 교훈은 하나님에게는 불가능한 것이 없다는 것을 잊지 않는 것이지요.
단: 삶 속에서 우리는 희망이 전혀 없어 보이는 온갖 종류의 갈등을 겪게 되지만 하나님께서는 불가능해 보이는 모든 것들을 이루어 내시지요.
비키: 그것이야말로 진정 위대한 사실이에요.
단: 그렇기 때문에 우리는 하나님께서 원하시는 무엇에든지 사용하실 때 두려워하지 말아야 해요.
비키: 저는 이제 하나님의 부름에 응할 준비가 되었다고 봐요. 당신은 어때요?
단: 나도 그래요. 자, 오늘을 충실히 합시다.
비키: 좋은 하루가 안 될 이유가 없지요!
단: 당신도요! |
