V: Good morning, Don.
D: Good morning, Vicki.
V: This morning's Power for Today reading was written by your friend who preaches in California.
D: Yes, I noticed that.
V: In the reading, Dave Bearden tells all the things he does on a Sunday morning before he preaches.
D: It is quite a list of things.
V: Right. He arrives a few hours before the Sunday morning service to prepare himself and to prepare the building.
D: He even puts flowers in front of the auditorium.
V: Then he goes down the education "wing" (or arm of the building) and prays for the children and teenagers.
D: We should probably pray for teenagers every day!
V: Haha! Dave says he prays for their youth minister too, so that God's power can be "declared to the next generation."
D: Dave also says that he "spots several pews" in the auditorium where some older members sit.
V: What does he do after he sees those long rows of seats in the auditorium?
D: He prays for the people that will soon be sitting in them.
V: With all of that praying, Dave must be tired by the time he gets up to preach.
D: I don't think so. He probably has even greater power to tell of the "Lord's righteousness and salvation."
V: I wish we had more preachers praying like Dave does.
D: Me too. Well, time to start another day. I need to run. See you tonight.

비키: 안녕히 주무셨어요, 여보?
단: 네, 잘 잤어요.
비키: 오늘 본문은 캘리포니아 주에서 목회활동을 하고 있는 당신 친구 분이 쓰셨어요.
단: 네, 알고 있어요.
비키: 본문에서 Dave Bearden씨는 주일 예배설교 전에 자신이 하는 일들을 말해주고 있어요.
단: 리스트처럼 죽 쓰여 있군요.
비키: 그래요. 일요일예배를 드리기 몇 시간 전에 미리 도착해서 스스로를 준비하고 교회건물도 둘러본다고 하는군요.
단: 강단 앞에 화분을 갖다놓는 것까지도 하구요.
비키: 그리고 교육회관(건물의 한 켠에 있는)으로 내려가서 어린이들과 청소년들을 위해 기도를 드린다고 해요.
단: 우리도 자라나는 청소년들을 위해 매일 기도를 드려야 해요!
비키: 하하! Dave씨는 하나님의 능력이 다음 세대들에게 선포될 수 있게 교회의 젊은 목회자들을 위해서도 기도를 드린다는군요.
단: Dave는 또한 예배당 안에 어르신들이 앉으실 자리들을 살핀답니다.
비키: 그럼, 예배당에 길게 늘어선 의자들을 살핀 다음에 그는 무엇을 하나요?
단: 그 자리에 곧 앉으실 분들을 위해 기도를 드린다고 해요.
비키: 그렇게 모든 기도를 드리면, 설교를 해야 할 시간쯤에는 꽤나 지치겠어요.
단: 그렇지 않아요. 그 친구는 주님의 구원과 하나님의 정의를 전하기 위해 더 큰 힘을 발휘할 거예요.
비키: Dave씨와 같은 목회자 분들이 더 많아졌으면 좋겠어요.
단: 나도 그렇게 되길 바래요. 그럼, 이제 하루를 시작할 시간이에요. 출근을 서둘러야겠어요. 그럼, 저녁에 봐요.
비키: 하나님의 은혜를 누리시길 바래요. |
