Help Each Other1Brothers and sisters, someone in your group might do something wrong. You who are following the Spirit* should go to the one who is sinning. Help make that person right again, and do it in a gentle way. But be careful, because you might be tempted to sin too. 2Help each other with your troubles. When you do this, you are obeying the law of Christ. 3If you think you are too important to do this, you are only fooling yourself. 4Don’t compare yourself with others. Just look at your own work to see if you have done anything to be proud of. 5You must each accept the responsibilities that are yours.
Never Stop Doing Good 6Whoever is being taught God’s word should share the good things they have with the one who is teaching them. 7If you think you can fool God, you are only fooling yourselves. You will harvest what you plant. 8If you live to satisfy your sinful self, the harvest you will get from that will be eternal death. But if you live to please the Spirit*, your harvest from the Spirit will be eternal life. 9We must not get tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time. We must not give up. 10When we have the opportunity to do good to anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers.
Paul Ends His Letter 11This is my own handwriting. You can see how big the letters are. 12Those men who are trying to force you to be circumcised* are only doing it so that their people will accept them. They are afraid they will be persecuted* if they follow only the cross* of Christ. 13They are circumcised, but they don’t obey the law* themselves. They want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about what they did to you. 14I hope I will never boast about things like that. The cross of our Lord Jesus Christ is my only reason for boasting. Through Jesus’ death on the cross the world is dead* to me, and I am dead to the world. 15It doesn’t matter if anyone is circumcised or not. The only thing that matters is this new life we have from God*. 16Peace and mercy to those who follow this rule - to all God’s people*. 17So don’t give me any more trouble. I have scars on my body that show* I belong to Jesus. 18My brothers and sisters, I pray that the grace* of our Lord Jesus Christ will be with your spirits. Amen*. |

서로를 도와라 1형제자매 여러분, 여러분 가운데 어떤 사람이 어떤 죄에 빠진 것이 드러나거든, 성령*을 모시고 사는 여러분이 그를 바른 길로 돌아오도록 도와주십시오. 부드럽고 따뜻한 마음으로 그를 바로잡아 주십시오. 그러나 여러분 자신도 유혹을 받을 수 있으니 조심하십시오. 2서로의 짐을 나누어 지십시오. 그렇게 하는 것이 그리스도의 법을 완성하는 것입니다. 3아무것도 아니면서 자기가 무엇이나 된 것처럼 생각하는 사람은 자신을 속이는 것입니다. 4각 사람은 자신이 한 일을 잘 살펴보십시오. 그러면 다른 사람이 한 일이 아니라, 자신이 한 그 일을 자랑스럽게 여길 수 있을 것입니다. 5사람마다 자기 몫의 짐을 져야 하기 때문입니다. 6하나님의 말씀을 배우는 사람은 자기가 가진 모든 좋은 것을, 말씀을 가르치는 사람과 나누어 써야 합니다.
인생은 들에 씨를 뿌리는 것과 같다 7어리석은 생각은 아예 하지 마십시오. 하나님은 결코 속일 수 있는 분이 아니십니다. 사람은 자기가 심은 것을 그대로 거두기 때문입니다. 8죄로 가득 찬 자신의 육체를 만족시키려고 심는 사람은, 육체로부터 영원한 죽음을 거둘 것입니다. 그러나 성령을 기쁘시게 해 드리려고 심는 사람은, 성령으로부터 영원한 생명을 거둘 것입니다. 9그러므로 우리는 선한 일을 하다가 그 일에 지치더라도 그만두어서는 안 됩니다. 포기하지 않고 꾸준히 계속하면, 때가 무르익을 때에 거둘 것입니다. 10기회가 닿는 대로 모든 사람에게 좋은 일을 합시다. 특히 믿음의 식구들에게 그렇게 합시다.
바울, 편지를 끝맺다 11보십시오. 내가 여러분에게 직접 이렇게 큰 글자로 씁니다. 12어떤 사람들이 여러분에게 할례*를 받으라고 강요하고 있습니다. 그 사람들이 그렇게 하는 것은, 다른 사람들(유대 사람들)에게 좋게 보이려는 것입니다. 그들은 그리스도의 십자가*만이 구원할 수 있다고 가르침으로써 박해 받을 것을 두려워하고 있습니다. 13그리고 그들은 할례는 받지만, 실제로 모든 율법*을 다 지키지는 않습니다. 그러면서도 여러분이 할례 받기를 원하는 것은, 자기들이 여러분의 몸에 한 일을 두고 자랑하려는 것입니다. 14나는 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 십자가밖에는 아무것도 자랑하지 않겠습니다. 그 십자가 때문에, 이 세상에 대한 나의 관심이 오래 전에 죽었고*, 나에 대한 세상의 관심 또한 이미 오래 전에 죽었습니다. 15할례*를 받느냐 받지 않느냐는 중요하지 않습니다. 중요한 것은, 우리가 변하여 새로운 사람으로 창조되었느냐 하는 것입니다. 16이 원리를 따라 사는 모든 사람에게 평화와 자비가 있기를 바랍니다. 그들이 곧 하나님의 새로운 백성 이스라엘입니다. 17이 편지를 끝내면서, 아무도 더는 나를 괴롭히지 말아 주기를 부탁드립니다. 나는 그리스도 예수를 위해 입은 상처 자국들을 몸에 지니고 있습니다. 그것들은 내가 그분께 속한 사람이라는 것을 보여 주는 증거입니다.* 18형제자매 여러분, 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜가 여러분과 함께하기를 빕니다. 아멘. |
