| Worship That Pleases God1Continue loving each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. 2Always remember to help people by welcoming them into your home. Some people have done that and have helped angels without knowing it. 3Don’t forget those who are in prison. Remember them as though you were in prison with them. And don’t forget those who are suffering. Remember them as though you were suffering with them. 4Marriage should be honored by everyone. And every marriage should be kept pure between husband and wife. God will judge guilty those who commit sexual sins and adultery*. 5Keep your lives free from the love of money. And be satisfied with what you have. God has said,
“I will never leave you;
I will never run away from you.”* 6So we can feel sure and say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
People can do nothing to me.”* 7Remember your leaders. They taught God’s message to you. Remember how they lived and died, and copy their faith. 8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9Don’t let all kinds of strange teachings lead you into the wrong way. Depend only on God’s grace* for spiritual strength, not on rules about foods. Obeying those rules doesn’t help anyone. 10We have a sacrifice*. And those priests who serve in the Holy Tent* cannot eat from the sacrifice we have. 11The high priest* carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place* and offers that blood for sins. But the bodies of those animals are burned outside the camp. 12So Jesus also suffered outside the city. He died to make his people holy* with his own blood. 13So we should go to Jesus outside the camp and accept the same shame that he had. 14Here on earth we don’t have a city that lasts forever. But we are waiting for the city that we will have in the future. 15So through Jesus we should never stop offering our sacrifice* to God. That sacrifice is our praise, coming from lips that speak his name. 16And don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with others, because sacrifices like these are very pleasing to God. 17Obey your leaders. Be willing to do what they say. They are responsible for your spiritual welfare, so they are always watching to protect you. Obey them so that their work will give them joy, not grief. It won’t help you to make it hard for them. 18Continue praying for us. We feel right about what we do, because we always try to do what is best. 19And I beg you to pray that God will send me back to you soon. I want this more than anything else. 20-21I pray that the God of peace will give you every good thing you need so that you can do what he wants. God is the one who raised from death our Lord Jesus, the Great Shepherd of his sheep. He raised him because Jesus sacrificed his blood to begin the new agreement* that never ends. I pray that God will work through Jesus Christ to do the things in us that please him. To him be glory* forever. Amen*. 22My brothers and sisters, I beg you to listen patiently to what I have said. I wrote this letter to strengthen you. And it is not very long. 23I want you to know that our brother Timothy is out of prison. If he comes to me soon, we will both come to see you. 24Give my greetings to all your leaders and to all God’s people. All those from Italy send you their greetings. 25God’s grace be with you all. |

| 1그리스도 안에 있는 같은 형제자매로서 서로를 꾸준히 사랑하십시오. 2나그네들을 대접하는 일을 게을리 하지 마십시오. 어떤 사람들은 나그네를 대접하다가 자기도 모르는 사이에 천사들을 대접하였습니다. 3감옥에 갇힌 사람들을 기억하되, 여러분도 그들과 함께 갇혀 있는 사람이라는 마음으로 기억하십시오. 학대 받는 사람들을 기억하되, 여러분 자신이 고통을 당한다는 마음으로 기억하십시오. 4모두들 결혼을 귀중하게 여기고, 부부의 잠자리를 더럽히지 마십시오. 하나님께서는 간음*하는 자와 성적으로 부도덕한 자를 모두 심판하실 것입니다. 5돈을 사랑하는 것에 얽매여 살지 말고, 지금 가지고 있는 것으로 만족하십시오. 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
“나는 결코 너를 떠나지도 않고 너를 버려 두지도 않을 것이다.”신 31:6 6그러므로 우리는 자신 있게 이렇게 말합니다.
“주께서 나를 도와주시니 나는 두렵지 않다. 누가 감히 내게 손을 대랴?”시 118:6 7여러분에게 하나님의 말씀을 전해 준 여러분의 지도자들을 기억하십시오. 그들이 어떻게 살다가 어떻게 죽었는지 살펴보고, 그들의 믿음을 본받으십시오. 8예수 그리스도께서는 어제도 오늘도 또 영원히 한결같은 분이십니다. 9온갖 이상한 교훈에 끌려 다니지 마십시오. 우리의 마음이 음식에 관한 규칙을 지키는 것으로 튼튼해지는 것이 아니라 은혜로 튼튼해지는 것이 좋습니다. 음식에 관한 규칙은 그것을 지킨 사람들에게 아무런 유익도 주지 못했습니다. 10우리에게는 한 제물이 있습니다. 그런데 이 땅의 성막에서 제사를 드리는 제사장들은 우리가 가진 제물을 먹을 수 없습니다. 11유대교의 율법 아래서는 대제사장이 짐승의 피는 지성소*로 가지고 들어가, 거기에서 죄를 용서받기 위한 제물로 바칩니다. 그러나 그 짐승의 고기는 진* 밖으로 가지고 나가 불살라 버립니다. 12그러므로 예수께서도 당신의 피로 백성을 거룩하게 하시려고, 성문(예루살렘 성문) 밖에서 고난을 받으셨습니다. 13그러니 우리도 진 밖에 계신 그분께 나아가, 그분이 겪으신 치욕을 함께 겪도록 합시다. 14이곳에는 우리의 영원한 도시가 없습니다. 우리는 앞으로 다가올 도시를 바라보고 있습니다. 15그러므로 예수를 통해서 하나님께 찬양의 제물을 쉬지 말고 드립시다. 그것은 우리 입으로 그분의 이름을 찬양하는 것입니다. 16그리고 선한 일을 하고, 다른 사람들과 나누는 것을 잊지 마십시오. 하나님께서는 그런 제물을 기뻐하십니다. 17여러분의 지도자들에게 순종하고, 그들의 권위에 복종하십시오. 그들은 여러분을 보살펴 주는 임무를 맡은 사람들이며, 자기들의 임무를 얼마나 잘 수행하였는지 하나님께 보고 드려야 할 사람들입니다. 그들에게 순종하여, 그들이 맡은 일을 짐스럽게 여기지 않고 기쁨으로 여기게 하십시오. 그들이 맡은 일을 짐스럽게 여기게 되면 여러분에게 좋을 것이 없습니다. 18우리를 위해 기도해 주십시오. 우리는 깨끗한 양심을 가지고 있다고 확신합니다. 그리고 모든 면에서 명예롭게 살기를 바라고 있습니다. 19그리고 내가 여러분에게 곧 돌아갈 수 있도록 기도해 주기를 간곡히 부탁합니다. 20-21우리 주 예수를 죽은 자들 가운데서 일으키신 평화의 하나님께서 여러분이 하나님의 뜻을 이루는 데에 필요한 모든 것을 다 갖추어 주시기를 바랍니다. 그리고 우리가 예수 그리스도의 힘을 빌려서 하나님을 기쁘게 해 드리는 일을 할 수 있도록 도와주시기를 바랍니다. 예수께서는 영원한 계약*의 피를 흘리심으로써 양들의 위대한 목자가 되셨습니다. 그분께 영원무궁토록 영광이 있기를 바랍니다. 아멘. 22형제자매 여러분, 이 편지가 비록 짧은 글이기는 하나, 내가 쓴 권고의 말만은 부디 받아들여 주십시오. 23우리 형제 디모데가 감옥에서 풀려났습니다. 그가 곧 오면, 내가 여러분을 만나러 갈 때 함께 가겠습니다. 24여러분의 모든 지도자들과 모든 하나님의 백성에게 문안해 주십시오. 이탈리아에서 온 사람들도 여러분에게 문안합니다. 25여러분 모두에게 하나님의 은혜가 있기를 빕니다. |
