News That Jesus Has Risen From Death (Mt. 28:1-10; Mk. 16:1-8; Jn. 20:1-10)1Very early Sunday morning, the women came to the tomb* where Jesus’ body was laid. They brought the sweet-smelling spices they had prepared. 2They saw that the heavy stone that covered the entrance had been rolled away. 3They went in, but they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4They did not understand this. While they were wondering about it, two men in shining clothes stood beside them. 5The women were very afraid. They bowed down with their faces to the ground. The men said to them, “Why are you looking for a living person here? This is a place for dead people. 6Jesus is not here. He has risen from death. Do you remember what he said in Galilee? 7He said the Son of Man* must be handed over to the control of sinful men, be killed on a cross, and rise from death on the third day.” 8Then the women remembered what Jesus had said. 9The women left the tomb and went to the eleven apostles* and the other followers. They told them everything that happened at the tomb. 10These women were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary, the mother of James, and some others. They told the apostles everything that happened. 11But the apostles did not believe what they said. It sounded like nonsense. 12But Peter got up and ran to the tomb to see. He looked in, but he saw only the cloth that Jesus’ body had been wrapped in. It was just lying there. Peter went away to be alone, wondering what had happened.*
On The Road to Emmaus (Mk. 16:12-13) 13That same day two of Jesus’ followers were going to a town named Emmaus. It is about seven miles* from Jerusalem. 14They were talking about everything that had happened. 15While they were talking, discussing these things, Jesus himself came near and walked with them. 16(But the two men were not allowed to recognize Jesus.) 17He asked them, “What’s this I hear you discussing with each other as you walk?” The two men stopped, their faces looking very sad. 18The one named Cleopas said, “You must be the only person in Jerusalem who doesn’t know what has just happened there.” 19Jesus said, “What are you talking about?” They said, “It’s about Jesus, the one from Nazareth. To God and to all the people he was a great prophet*. He said and did many powerful things. 20But our leaders and the leading priests handed him over to be judged and killed. They nailed him to a cross. 21We were hoping that he would be the one to free Israel*. But then all this happened.
“And now something else: It has been three days since he was killed, 22but today some of our women told us an amazing thing. Early this morning they went to the tomb* where the body of Jesus was laid. 23But they did not find his body there. They came and told us they had seen some angels in a vision*. The angels told them Jesus was alive! 24So some of our group went to the tomb too. It was just as the women said. They saw the tomb, but they did not see Jesus.” 25Then Jesus said to the two men, “You are foolish and slow to realize what is true. You should believe everything the prophets said. 26The prophets said the Messiah* must suffer these things before he begins his time of glory*.” 27Then he began to explain everything that had been written about himself in the Scriptures*. He started with the books of Moses* and then he talked about what the prophets had said about him. 28They came near the town of Emmaus, and Jesus acted as if he did not plan to stop there. 29But they wanted him to stay. They begged him, “Stay with us. It’s almost night. There’s hardly any daylight left.” So he went in to stay with them. 30Joining them at the supper table, Jesus took some bread and gave thanks. Then he broke some off and gave it to them. 31Just then the men were allowed to recognize him. But when they saw who he was, he disappeared. 32They said to each other, “When he talked to us on the road, it felt like a fire burning in us. How exciting it was when he explained to us the true meaning of the Scriptures!” 33So the two men got up then and went back to Jerusalem. There they found the followers of Jesus meeting together. The eleven apostles* and the people with them 34said, “The Lord really has risen from death! He appeared to Simon.” 35Then the two men told what had happened on the road. They talked about how they recognized Jesus when he shared the bread with them.
Jesus Appears to His Followers (Mt. 28:16-20; Mk. 16:14-18; Jn. 20:19-23; Acts 1:6-8) 36While the two men were saying these things to the other followers, Jesus himself came and stood among them. He said to them, “Peace be with you.” 37This surprised the followers. They were afraid. They thought they were seeing a ghost. 38But Jesus said, “Why are you troubled? Why do you doubt what you see? 39Look at my hands and my feet. It’s really me. Touch me. You can see that I have a living body; a ghost does not have a body like this.” 40After Jesus told them this, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41The followers were amazed and very, very happy to see that Jesus was alive. They still could not believe what they saw. He said to them, “Do you have any food here?” 42They gave him a piece of cooked fish. 43While the followers watched, he took the fish and ate it. 44Jesus said to them, “Remember when I was with you before? I said that everything written about me must happen - everything written in the Law of Moses*, the books of the prophets*, and the Psalms.” 45Then Jesus helped the followers understand these Scriptures* about him. 46Jesus said to them, “It is written that the Messiah* would be killed and rise from death on the third day. 47-48You saw these things happen - you are witnesses. You must go and tell people that they must change and turn to God, which will bring them his forgiveness. You must start from Jerusalem and tell this message in my name to the people of all nations. 49Remember that I will send you the one my Father promised. Stay in the city until you are given that power from heaven.”
Jesus Goes Back to Heaven (Mk. 16:19-20; Acts 1:9-11) 50Jesus led his followers out of Jerusalem almost to Bethany. He raised his hands and blessed his followers. 51While he was blessing them, he was separated from them and carried into heaven. 52They worshiped him and went back to Jerusalem very happy. 53They stayed at the Temple* all the time, praising God. |

예수께서 부활하셨다는 소식 (마 28:1-10; 막 16:1-8; 요 20:1-10) 1안식일 다음 날* 새벽 일찍, 여자들은 준비한 향료를 가지고 예수의 주검을 모신 무덤으로 갔다. 2그들이 가 보니 무덤을 막았던 큰 돌이 굴려나 있었다. 3여자들이 무덤 안으로 들어가 보니 주 예수의 주검이 없었다. 4여자들이 어찌 된 일인지 알 수 없어서 어리둥절해하고 있는데, 갑자기 눈부시게 빛나는 옷을 입은 사람(천사) 둘이 그들 곁에 서 있었다. 5여자들은 겁에 질려 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드렸다. 그러자 두 사람이 여자들에게 말하였다. “너희는 어찌하여 살아 계신 분을 죽은 사람들 가운데서 찾고 있느냐? 그분은 여기에 계시지 않는다. 그분은 살아나셨다. 6그분이 갈릴리에서 하신 말씀을 기억하지 못하느냐? 7그때 예수께서는 사람의 아들*이 죄인들의 손에 넘겨져, 십자가에 못 박혀 죽었다가 사흘째 되는 날에 다시 살아나야 한다고 말씀하시지 않았느냐?” 8이 말을 듣고서야 여자들은 예수께서 하신 말씀이 생각났다. 9여자들은 무덤을 떠나 열한 사도와 다른 제자들이 있는 곳으로 갔다. 그리고 무덤에서 일어났던 일을 낱낱이 이야기해 주었다. 10사도들에게 이 이야기를 전해 준 여자들은 막달라 여자인 마리아와, 요안나와, 야고보의 어머니 마리아와, 다른 여자들이었다. 11그러나 사도들에게는 그 말이 터무니없는 헛소리처럼 들렸기 때문에 그들은 여자들의 말을 믿지 않았다. 12그러나 베드로는 벌떡 일어나 무덤으로 달려갔다. 그가 몸을 굽혀 무덤 안을 들여다보니 예수의 주검을 쌌던 모시 천만 놓여 있었다. 베드로는 일어난 일을 이상하게 여기며 집으로 돌아갔다.
엠마오로 가는 길에서 (막 16:12-13) 13그날 예수의 제자 가운데 두 사람이 예루살렘에서 한 삼십 리*쯤 떨어진 엠마오라는 마을로 가고 있었다. 14그들은 일어난 이 모든 일을 두고 이야기를 나누고 있었다. 15두 사람이 이야기를 하고 있는 동안 예수께서 가까이 다가와 두 사람과 함께 걸으셨다. 16그런데도 두 사람은 눈이 가려져 그분을 보고도 예수시라는 것을 몰랐다. 17그러자 예수께서 말씀하셨다. “두 분이 걸으면서 무슨 일들에 대해서 이야기를 나누고 있습니까?”
두 사람이 슬픈 얼굴로 걸음을 멈추었다. 18그 가운데 글로바라고 하는 사람이 말하였다. “예루살렘에 사는 사람으로서 지난 며칠 사이에 있었던 일을 모르는 사람은 당신밖에 없을 것입니다.” 19예수께서 두 사람에게 말씀하셨다. “무슨 일 말입니까?”
두 사람이 예수께 대답하였다. “나사렛 사람 예수에 관한 일입니다. 그분은 하시는 일과 말씀에 큰 능력이 있는 예언자이셨습니다. 그분은 하나님과 사람에게서 크게 인정을 받으셨습니다. 20그런데 높은 제사장들과 우리 백성의 지도자들이 그분을 로마 총독에게 넘겨 사형 선고를 받게 하였습니다. 그리고 그들이 그분을 십자가에 못 박아 죽였습니다. 21우리는 그분이 이스라엘 백성을 해방시켜 주시리라고 기대하고 있었는데 그런 일이 일어나고 말았습니다. 그런데 이제 또 다른 일이 일어났습니다. 오늘이 그분이 돌아가신 지 사흘째 되는 날인데, 22우리 가운데서 몇몇 여자들이 우리를 놀라게 하였습니다. 오늘 이른 아침에 그들이 그분의 주검을 모셨던 무덤에 갔으나, 23그분의 주검을 그곳에서 찾을 수 없었답니다. 그 여자들은 우리에게 돌아와서 그곳에서 두 천사들의 환상을 보았다고 하였습니다. 그 천사들이 예수께서 살아 계시다고 말하더라는 것입니다. 24그래서 우리 가운데 몇 사람이 무덤으로 가서, 여자들이 말한 대로 무덤이 비어 있는 것을 보았습니다. 그러나 그분을 찾지는 못하였습니다.” 25그러자 예수께서 두 사람에게 말씀하셨다. “예언자들이 한 말을 그렇게 믿지 못하다니, 그대들은 참으로 어리석고 마음이 무디기도 합니다. 26그리스도*가 반드시 이런 고통을 겪은 다음에 자신의 영광으로 들어가야 하지 않겠습니까?” 27그러고 나서 예수께서는 모세의 율법서*와 모든 예언서들로 시작하여, 성경 전체에서 자신에 관하여 쓰인 것들을 설명해 주셨다. 28두 사람이 가려고 하던 마을에 다다르자, 예수께서는 그 마을에 들르지 않고 지나쳐 가시려는 척하셨다. 29두 사람은 예수께 함께 묵기를 간절히 청하였다. “우리와 함께 묵으시지요. 거의 저녁때가 다 되었고 날이 이미 저물었습니다.” 그래서 예수께서 두 사람과 함께 묵으려고 들어가셨다. 30예수께서는 두 사람과 함께 음식을 드시려고 식탁에 앉으셔서, 빵을 들어 하나님께 감사 기도를 드리셨다. 그런 다음 그 빵을 나누어 두 사람에게 주셨다. 31그 순간 두 사람은 눈이 열려 예수를 알아보았다. 그러나 두 사람이 예수를 알아보자 예수는 그 자리에 계시지 않았다. 32두 사람은 서로 이런 말을 주고받았다. “그분이 길에서 우리에게 말씀하실 때, 그리고 성경*을 풀어 설명해 주실 때, 우리의 마음이 뜨겁게 타오르지 않았던가?” 33두 사람은 곧바로 일어나 예루살렘으로 돌아왔다. 두 사람이 예루살렘에 와 보니, 열한 사도*와 다른 사람들이 모여 있었다. 34두 사람을 보자 그들은 이렇게 말하였다. “정말입니다! 주(예수)께서 살아나셔서 시몬(베드로)에게 나타나셨습니다.” 35두 사람도 길에서 일어났던 일을 말해 주었다. 그리고 예수께서 빵을 나누어 주실 때 자기들이 그분을 알아보게 되었던 일을 이야기하였다.
제자들에게 나타나시다 (마 28:16-20; 막 16:14-18; 요 20:19-23; 행 1:6-8) 36그들이 이런 이야기를 하고 있을 때 예수께서 몸소 그들 가운데 서서 말씀하셨다. “너희에게 평화가 있어라!” 37제자들은 놀랐으며, 자기들이 유령을 보고 있는 줄 알고 무서워하였다. 38예수께서 말씀하셨다. “어찌하여 무서워하느냐? 어찌하여 속으로 의심하느냐? 유령에게는 살과 뼈가 없지만, 너희가 보는 대로 내게는 살과 뼈가 있지 않으냐? 39내 손과 발을 보아라. 정말로 나다! 나를 만져 보아라. 나는 이렇게 살아 있는 몸을 가지고 있다. 유령에게는 이런 몸이 없다.” 40예수께서는 이렇게 말씀하시고 나서 당신의 손과 발을 보여 주셨다. 41제자들은 너무 기뻐서 아직 믿지 못하고 그냥 놀라워하고 있는데 예수께서 말씀하셨다. “먹을 것이 좀 있느냐?” 42제자들이 예수께 구운 생선 한 토막을 드렸다. 43예수께서는 제자들이 보는 앞에서 그 생선을 받아 잡수셨다. 44그러고 나서 예수께서 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. “내가 전에 너희와 함께 있을 때에, 모세의 율법서와 예언서와 시편에 나를 두고 기록되어 있는 모든 일들이 반드시 이루어져야 한다고 말하였다.” 45그러고 나서 예수께서는 제자들의 마음을 열어 성경 말씀을 깨닫게 해 주셨다. 46그분은 그들에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. “성경에, 그리스도*가 죽임을 당했다가, 사흘째 되는 날에 죽은 사람들 가운데서 다시 살아날 것이라고 쓰여 있다. 47그리고 회개하면 죄를 용서 받는다는 기쁜 소식이 그리스도*의 이름으로 전파될 것이라고 하였다. 이 기쁜 소식이 예루살렘에서 시작하여 모든 민족에게 전파될 것이라고도 하였다. 48너희는 이 모든 일을 직접 본 증인들이다. 49내 아버지께서 내게 약속하신 선물이 있다. 내가 그 선물을 너희에게 보내겠다. 그러니 너희는 하늘에서 오는 그 힘을 받을 때까지 예루살렘에 머물러 있어라.”
하늘로 돌아가시다 (막 16:19-20; 행 1:9-11) 50예수께서는 제자들을 데리고 예루살렘을 떠나 베다니로 가셨다. 그분은 손을 들어 제자들을 축복하셨다. 51예수께서는 제자들을 축복하시는 가운데, 그들을 떠나 하늘로 들려 올라가셨다. 52제자들은 예수께 경배하고 크게 기뻐하며 예루살렘으로 돌아왔다. 53그리고 성전*에서 늘 하나님을 찬양하며 지냈다. |
