The Seventh Seal1The Lamb opened the seventh seal*. Then there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2And I saw the seven angels who stand before God. They were given seven trumpets. 3Another angel came and stood at the altar*. This angel had a golden holder for incense*. The angel was given much incense* to offer with the prayers of all God’s holy people*. The angel put this offering on the golden altar* before the throne. 4The smoke from the incense went up from the angel’s hand to God. The smoke went up with the prayers of God’s people. 5Then the angel filled the incense holder with fire from the altar and threw it down on the earth. Then there were flashes of lightning, thunder and other noises, and an earthquake.
The First of Seven Trumpet Blasts 6Then the seven angels with the seven trumpets prepared to blow their trumpets. 7The first angel blew his trumpet. Then hail and fire mixed with blood was poured down on the earth. And a third of the earth and all the green grass and a third of the trees were burned up. 8The second angel blew his trumpet. Then something that looked like a big mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea. And a third of the sea became blood. 9And a third of the created beings in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. 10The third angel blew his trumpet. Then a large star, burning like a torch, fell from the sky. It fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11The name of the star was Bitterness*. And a third of all the water became bitter. Many people died from drinking this bitter water. 12The fourth angel blew his trumpet. Then a third of the sun and a third of the moon and a third of the stars were struck. So a third of them became dark. A third of the day and night was without light. 13While I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying high in the air. The eagle said in a loud voice, “Terrible! Terrible! How terrible for those who live on the earth! The terrible trouble will begin after the sounds of the trumpets that the other three angels will blow.” |

일곱 번째 봉인 1그분께서 일곱째 봉인을 떼실 때에, 그때 하늘은 반 시간쯤 고요하였습니다. 2그리고 나는 늘 하나님 앞에 서서 하나님을 모시는 일곱 천사를 보았습니다. 그들이 나팔을 하나씩 받았습니다. 3또 다른 천사가 와서 제단 앞에 섰습니다. 그는 금향로를 들고 있었습니다. 그는 모든 성도의 기도와 함께 바칠 향을 많이 받았습니다. 그것들은 보좌 앞에 있는 황금 제단 위에 바칠 것이었습니다. 4향을 태운 연기가 성도들의 기도와 함께 천사의 손에서 하나님 앞으로 올라갔습니다. 5그 다음에 그 천사가 향로를 가져다가, 거기에 제단 불을 가득 채워서, 땅 위로 내리 던졌습니다. 그러자 천둥소리가 나고 우르르하는 소리가 들리며 번갯불이 번쩍이고 지진이 일어났습니다.
일곱 천사가 나팔을 불다 6그러자 일곱 나팔을 가진 일곱 천사들이 나팔을 불 채비를 하였습니다. 7첫째 천사가 그의 나팔을 불자, 우박과 불이 피와 섞여서 땅 위로 쏟아졌습니다. 땅의 삼분의 일이 타 버리고, 나무의 삼분의 일이 타 버리고, 푸른 풀이 다 타 버렸습니다. 8둘째 천사가 그의 나팔을 불자, 불붙은 큰 산처럼 보이는 것이 바닷속으로 던져졌습니다. 그러자 바다의 삼분의 일이 피로 변하였습니다. 9바다에 사는 생명체 삼분의 일이 죽고, 바다에 있던 배들의 삼분의 일이 부서졌습니다. 10셋째 천사가 나팔을 불자, 큰 별이 횃불같이 활활 타면서 하늘에서 떨어졌습니다. 별은 강의 삼분의 일과 샘들을 덮쳤습니다. 11그 별의 이름은 ‘쑥*’입니다. 물의 삼분의 일이 쓰게 변했고, 이 쓴 물을 마신 많은 사람이 죽었습니다. 12넷째 천사가 나팔을 불자, 해의 삼분의 일과 달의 삼분의 일과 별들의 삼분의 일이 타격을 입어서, 그것들의 삼분의 일이 어두워졌습니다. 그러자 낮의 삼분의 일이 빛을 잃고, 밤의 삼분의 일도 빛을 잃었습니다. 13내가 보니, 하늘 높이 나는 독수리 한 마리가 큰 소리로 외치는 소리가 들렸습니다. “재앙이 미치리라! 재앙이 미치리라! 아직도 세 천사가 불게 될 나팔 소리가 남았으니, 땅에 사는 사람들에게 재앙이 미치리라.” |
